Kanye West announces he’ll release another album in 2016
Last week, Kanye West attacked Taylor in a song with a disturbingly misogynistic bent, and the usual cast of family members and celebrity friends rushed to her defense.
“I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame”, she said. While tooting his own horn about the past albums he has released, West couldn’t help but bring down T.Swift in the process.
We’re sure Taylor Swift isn’t sweating it though, as she got her jab in for his “Famous” lyrics during the 2016 Grammys when she accepted her trophy for Album of the Year.
Regarding Swift, the singer, 38, said, “She not cool no more”. The song features a line about the rapper sleeping with the 26-year-old, and the claim he made her famous by storming the stage to protest her 2009 MTV Video Music Awards win.
‘I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was amusing and gave her blessings…
“I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her…”, West began his explanation. It’s actually something Taylor came up with.
In fairness to both of them, West may well be saying what truly happened. (I’m guessing this is just Kayne West being, well, Kayne West – i.e ambitious as hell but not entirely effective.) But hey, I’ve been known to be wrong! Absolutely. But now, Swift’s camp is experiencing some backlash, as some have argued that Team Taylor is taking a bit too much pleasure in publicly bashing a man who seems to be in the midst of an emotional breakdown.
