Two former presidents of Mexico compare Trump to Hitler
Fox’s comments come one day after he delivered a scathing response on Trump’s plan to make Mexico pay for a wall between the Mexico-U.S. border.
Fox told Anderson Cooper that Trump longing for the old days with such strong rhetoric “reminds me of Hitler”.
Previously, Fox was here to tell Jorge Ramos and America that he wouldn’t pay for that “f*cking wall”. “He should pay for it. He’s got the money”.
In the streets of the capital, newspapers and social media, locals sided with the usually unpopular ex-leader over Trump, who is probably viewed even more negatively by Mexicans for campaign rhetoric denigrating immigrants as “rapists” who bring crime and drugs to the United States.
“I’m not going to apologize for all these stupid things we’ve been hearing from him that really have offended Mexico and the Mexican people”, he said, adding that the wall would be “going against your own interests”.
Mr Trump said Fox ought to be “ashamed of himself” for his vulgarity and demanded an apology. “I am not. He should know that, and I’m not going to apologize”.
While it’s unclear what Trump himself thinks of the comparisons, there are some Trump supporters who might think of them as compliments.
US Vice President Joe Biden, speaking Thursday during a visit to Mexico, said the message expressed about Mexicans by some candidates in the US election campaign is “dangerous, damaging and incredibly ill-advised”, but that this episode of “xenophobia” will pass.
FMR PRES of Mexico, Vicente Fox horribly used the F word when discussing the wall. He used it to torpedo Trump’s idea of building a border wall, which Trump claims Mexico will finance. It got 10 feet taller.
