NFL Scouting Combine Preview: Wide Receivers
Today marks the final day of player interviews at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine.
Tech’s all-time leading rusher and the holder of the second-most touchdowns from scrimmage in NCAA history managed the 14th-best 40-yard dash time.
Elliott didn’t do much in the bench press, he put up the 14th best broad jump at 9-feet, 10 inches and ran a 4.47 40, not hurting his first round stock.
NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock compared Notre Dame WR Will Fuller to Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders during the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday.
NFL.com will also post results in a variety of testing categories as they occur.
Arkansas’ Alex Collins had a time of 4.59, which was mildly disappointing. Fuller said heading into the Combine that he thought he’d run in the 4.35-second range, so he was actually a bit faster than his already impressive target time.
After losing the 2014 season to a shoulder injury, Miller switched from quarterback to wide receiver, and although there were some learning moments, he made an immediate impact in a win over Virginia Tech in the 2015 season opener. He wants to be first, I want to be first.
“That’s not to say that I’m ready necessarily, but it definitely helps to have covered them before, to have tracked them before. And I chose to go compete in the National Football League”. And I don’t think that the Steelers are really putting a cap on his potential, knowing as they did that he would need time to grow. “We did medical yesterday (Wednesday) and everything checked out 100 percent, the doctors said it looked as good as it possibly could”. We saw a guy that was explosive, that tested well on and off the field and ran well…
“There’s a lot of things you have to prepare yourself for going to the next level”.
