Shenmue 3 screens teased on Kickstarter
The announcement came at the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences (MAGIC) event in Monaco. Of course, Ys Net is quick to say that the images depict a work-in-progress, so much like previously released screenshots, the visuals are subject to change. The entire work is pretty impressive considering its not been long since company started working on this game.
Yu Suzuki wants more strategy and interaction in Shenmue III’s fights. Initially, the campaign had a tentative goal of nearly $2 million. Today, the new and final total of the game has crossed $6 million. With monthly updates on the game’s Kickstarter page, it’s likely that a lot more will be shared before the game’s December 2017 release.
A video compiling all the clips along with the screenshots is posted above, but you can also click through the links. You’ll also find a short video showing off-screen footage of an environmental flythrough. Unfortunately, the one image isn’t in full resolution, but it’s still rather nice.
It is now expected that Shenmue 3 will release on the PS4 as well as the PC platforms.
Announced at the E3 2015, the Shenmue 3 game was bound for glory.
The first Shenmue III screenshot released didn’t exactly capture the imagination, but the project’s been in development for a little while now, and is slowly beginning to take shape.
As found in the gallery below, the stills from the game are filled with vibrant colors, and show off several wonderful-looking pastoral landscapes, with Shenmue 3’s character Shenhua Ling being featured prominently in all but two.
