‘He’s rewriting the playbook’, says Christie as he endorses Trump
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump appears to be catching on among MA primary voters despite sharp criticism from GOP Gov. Charlie Baker.
Mr Christie pulled out of the Republican White House race after a dismal showing in the nomination contests in Iowa and New Hampshire, where he finished 10th and sixth respectively.
Christie made the endorsement at a Trump campaign rally in Texas.
“Marco is exactly right that a federal court find Donald guilty of being part of a conspiracy to hire people illegally”, Mackowiak said.
Earlier in the week, Duke praised Trump, saying, “Voting against Donald Trump at this point is really treason to your heritage”, the Daily News reported, running a front page featuring a hooded Klansman with the headline “TRUMP FOR PREZ”.
Cruz is leading Trump 39%-26% in Texas, according to the new polls. Kasich responded that non-candidates don’t understand what it is like to be in the arena and assured Tapper, “At the end of the day, I’m going to support that person who came through the arena and became the nominee”.
Marco Rubio’s odds at the Republican nomination have decreased after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s unexpected endorsement of Trump. The Florida senator went on the attack against Trump in Thursday night’s debate and continued his assault Friday morning, calling Trump a “con artist”, making fun of Trump’s misspellings in his tweets, and insinuating that he wet himself during the debate.
Trump introduced the New Jersey governor as a “real standout”.
“Trump would take America on a risky journey”.
From the lectern, Trump showed off a water bottle, reminiscent of the one the Florida senator grabbed during his 2013 State of the Union response. Political analysts say it’s a move that doesn’t hurt Trump but could impact when others publicize their endorsements.
Christie’s endorsement is significant as he is one of the first establishment Republicans to back Trump.
Rubio then turned toward a more serious public policy issue as he compared Trump to Kim Jong-un, the supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
