Academy Awards: Lady Gaga to be introduced by Vice President Joe Biden

After her showstopping tribute to the late David Bowie at this month’s Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga is in the midst of a major comeback.

Til It Happens to You was written by Diane Warren for the documentary The Hunting Ground on the rape culture that prevails on some university campuses.

The event will be an opportunity for 73-year-old Biden to promote the It’s On Us campaign against sexual assault, which was launched on September by Barack Obama’s administration.

Biden’s appearance is unusual for the Oscars, but not unprecedented.

Biden, who will attend the Oscars with his wife Dr. Jill Biden, has always been outspoken about sexual violence and domestic issues since he drafted the Violence Against Women Act when he was still a senator, NBC News reported.
