Next Big Thing: Three standout Oscar nominees you might’ve missed
The Music and Lyrics for the song have been composed by David Lang. The song “Til It Happens To You” sung by Lady Gaga and Diane Warren have been nominated for an Oscar in 2016. The Oscars nominated this issue by nominating this song.
“They really and truly nominated the issue of sexual assault on campuses….”
Warren said she took a risk calling Gaga and asking her to work on the song.
‘I didn’t know how to think about it. I didn’t know how to accept it. I didn’t know how not to blame myself, or think it was my fault. “He wrote me because I got this nomination and I thought, ‘That’s so sweet.’ You would think he would have something better to do with his time”. Two nominees from the original song categories this year were not invited to perform, while the other three nominees were.
“She put enough of herself in this to where I felt OK about it. I felt that it was a collaboration”, Perry said.
The song is up against entries from The Weeknd, who recorded Earned It for the Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack, and Sam Smith for Bond theme Writing’s On The Wall.
In which Gaga reminded everyone in one history-making, 10-minute performance that she not only is a remarkable singer and a bona fide chameleon of an artist (in every sense of the word), but also the best, most incredible performer of our generation. But this is an awards show, and while ratings and commercial dollars are important, the decision suggests that the Oscar producers (and those within the Academy responsible for the awards ceremony) are placing those things above their own awards, and I don’t think it’s only the nominees who should be upset by this decision.
The 88th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 28, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
