Pilot Diverts Plane Thanks to Unruly Bachelor Party
This is the stag party whose behaviour at 30,000ft forced a Ryanair pilot to land the plane early.
The boozed-up Brits were met by officers upon landing at Schoenefeld airport late last night, local police said.
Six members of the group were said to have become unruly during the flight, forcing the pilot to make an unscheduled stop in Berlin and remove the passengers concerned from the flight.
The six people were charged with misdemeanors stemming from violations of air security laws and face fines up to €25,000, according to German police. The groom and five others, all ages 25 to 28, were ejected, reports the Guardian.
A flight from England to Slovakia was diverted after a group of men celebrating a bachelor party got too rowdy, according to police.
One does not normally expect the old, “Keep it down or I’ll turn this auto around”, threat to apply to airplanes, but apparently it does.
“We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behavior at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority”, Ryanair said in a statement quoted by Southampton’s Daily Echo.
The remaining 164 passengers, including the six members of the stag party who were not involved in the incident, were able to continue their journey to Bratislava.
The airline can also file a civil case against them.
