Christie presidential bid gets ‘Trumped’ in New Hampshire
NEWPORT, N.H. (AP) – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is chiding his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination for speaking in slogans rather than offering specifics on policies they’d pursue if elected to the White House.

The former Florida governor came in a distant second with 12%, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who tied for third place in the poll, both getting 7%.

Christie now sits ninth in a crowded GOP field of more than a dozen candidates hoping to make it onto the stage for their party’s first debate August 6, which is capped at the top 10 based on recent polls.
The outspoken billionaire was the runaway leader with 24 percent of GOP voters in the Granite State in a Monmouth University poll released Tuesday.
The poll was conducted from July 23-26 among 467 Republican voters or likely Republican voters in New Hampshire and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
And Trump has taken the air out of one Republican candidate who has staked all on New Hampshire.
