Ohio gas prices up slightly higher than national average
The current prices were slightly more than 12 cents a gallon higher than a week ago, but about 25 cents less than a month ago, and almost $1 less than a year ago.
Gas prices have dropped or stayed stable across northern New England, but they may be on the rise again soon.
In Vermont, the average price was $1.84, down almost 3 cents from the week before.
“We’re cautiously optimistic that when prices do go up, we’ll probably see a peak for the national average somewhere between 2.20 and 2.40 per gallon”, he says.
The average price nationally rose 4 cents from a week ago, to $1.75 per gallon.
Madison- $1.70/g, up 6.7 cents per gallon from last week’s $1.63/g. He noted gas prices are likely to begin to increase steadily as the country eases into the spring season – a trend which may be emphasized by recent refinery run cuts in the industry. Pump prices are down in 30 states and Washington, D.C., on the week, with the largest savings west of the Rockies, AAA said.
Tennessee- $1.52, up 2.3 cents per gallon from last week’s $1.50. Prices in South Florida tend to be higher because of higher taxes.
Nevada prices are down 29.9 cents from a month ago and 73.1 cents from past year, according to GasBuddy historical data.
The price of oil in electronic trading before markets open today saw oil break through $33 a barrel, up from Friday’s close of $32.78.
The long slide in gasoline prices has ended in Lowndes County, at least for the time being.
