Oscars: Sylvester Stallone Snubbed
Arnold Schwarzenegger has spoken out in support of his friend Sylvester Stallone following the “Creed” actor’s surprise failure to win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, which went to Mark Rylance instead. Rylance, a beloved stage actor, took home the honor for his performance as the stoic Soviet sleeper agent Rudolf Abel in the Cold War drama Bridge of Spies. “I’m proud of you”.
In an Instagram video, Schwarzenegger said: “Sly, no matter what they say, remember, to me you are the best”. After Stallone’s loss, Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted a heartfelt message to his friend and co-star from The Expendables films, saying “you were the victor”.
The pair’s complicated bromance dates back years.
In 1977, Stallone was actually nominated in both of those categories for each the Oscars, the Golden Globes and the BAFTA Awards.
How sweet – at least Sly knows that Arnie is still in his corner! But even given his history and fame, there are still some movies on Stallone’s list that I don’t think enough people have seen. The divide stayed despite the fact that they have come together for films like “The Expendable” series and “Escape Plan”.
