Holm ‘OK’ with Ronda Rousey saying she still feels undefeated
Holm will defend her title against Miesha Tate March 5 at UFC 196, but beyond that, nothing is certain in the women’s 135-pound division.
Nearly before Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey exited the ring in Australia last November from UFC 193, their rematch was being discussed.
Conventional wisdom was that the smart route for the new UFC women’s bantamweight champion would be to hold out until next July and fight Rousey in a rematch at UFC 200 in Las Vegas, which would bring in a bigger payday than she ever could have imagined when she began her combat sports career. “I was just being honest”. Title shot!’ but they keep saying that I need one more fight, so I was told we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
Luckily the awesome rendering of each fighter and movement, along with the completely reworked knockout physics make getting destroyed in UFC 2 a blast, I can only imagine what a joy it is to beat someone else up. “We’d take that fight if Ronda needs more time to make up her mind”. Sitting on the dais in the bowels of Chicago’s United Center at the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White assured her that her next bout would be a championship fixture against her long-time rival, Ronda Rousey.
“I think that they’re [UFC officials are] waiting for it all to blow over and for the matter to get handled, and then after that, I’ll be making a fight announcement”, Pena told Ariel Helwani on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour.
According to a story from Australian media outlet 7 News Perth, their reporter Mike Amor was instructed by Rousey’s PR team not to ask her any questions about fighting during a recent interview in Vancouver. “I don’t care if it’s the first fight, the last fight (or) the second to last fight”.
Rousey was saying all the right things, and it seemed as though she was in the right mindset for an eventual return. “I want that gold around my waist, you know?”
“I’ve definitely learned a lot along the way and these are things that you can’t learn unless you go through it. There is no way to prepare for the amount of pressure you’re going to feel”. “I do hope she never entertains that”.
“I don’t want to be a one-hit wonder”, Holm said. Pena said. “But yeah, I always wanted to fight Ronda too”.
