Kejriwal has narrow escape as auto attacked in Punjab (Second Lead)
In his tweet Kejriwal said, “My auto attacked with sticks and stones in Ludhiana”.
But, the protesters came to know about it. They rushed there and pelted stones, breaking the wind shield of Kejriwal’s Innova vehicle.
“Corruption and wrong policies” have created a “mess” in the industrial sector in Punjab whose SAD-BJP government lacks the will to set things right, Aam Adami Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal said here today.
Mr Maken said the people of Delhi were now waiting for an opportunity to teach the AAP a lesson, which may happen if byelections to the 13 MCD wards are held any time soon.
A photo retweeted by the AAP’s official handle showed the broken windscreen of Kejriwal’s vehicle and police present at the scene.
Kejriwal was on a five-day tour of Punjab, where the AAP has emerged as a major player. Badals and Congress nervous?
Mr Maken attacked the Kejriwal government for allegedly squandering the tax payers’ money in publishing “huge” advertisements. “It was by only God’s grace that he escaped unhurt”, party leader Ashish Khetan tweeted.
The AAP leadership pointed out that BJP supporters held a protest at the venue while the Akali Dal workers attacked Kejriwal’s motorcade.
During his earlier visit to Punjab last month, there was a security lapse as the Punjab government did not provide security to the Delhi chief minister while he was travelling back to Delhi.
“Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal is responsible for the attack as it was all planned at the behest of him”, he alleged.
“The day is not far when the Civil Secretariat of Punjab would also be on sale to run government expenses”, Kejriwal said.
“Now he is trying to be fool the people of Punjab in the name of Aam Admi of whom he was least bothered”, Sukhbir said. “This is a very risky style of politics being done by the AAP”, Congress leader and Ludhiana MP Ravnit Singh Bittu had said.
