Apple to launch 4-inch iPhone SE on March 22
While the iPhone se is not likely going to deliver the same features as a flagship like the iPhone 6s, reports suggest that it will offer much more than previously expected.
Talking of the storage space, it is being expected that Apple will now release a phone with a larger storage space than ever before.
Mr. Chi-Kuo also believes that the iPhone 5SE could also be dubbed iPhone SE for Special Edition, and it can prove to be a massive hit among the fans.
High-end iPhones today are the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus; the former features a 4.7-inch display while the Plus has 5.5-inch display. Until those happen, we won’t have any official confirmation for the event or when it’s really happening.
According to a report on Re/Code, the next event will be in the week of March 21, though that doesn’t mean the date is confirmed as the same. Now, a report from Buzzfeed claims that the Cupertino company will be revealing a series of new products on March 21.
The California tech giant is expected to launch a new 4-inch iPhone 5se which will have a 12-megapixel camera as well as a new 9.7-inch iPad Pro featuring a A9X chip and possibly the second generation of the Apple Watch.
The iPhone SE also has the advantage of running iOS 9, the newest software update from Apple.
It was reported in January that Apple is preparing a new 4-inch iPhone that is essentially 2013’s iPhone 5s with upgraded internals.
Kuo expects the 4-inch phone phone to cost between $400 and $500 – substantially lower than the $649 starting price of the iPhone 6s – as Apple looks to reach more customers. The Apple Watch 2 is unlikely to be unveiled, but the firm reportedly plans to show off some new Apple Watch options. But 9to5Mac found out from sources that it will likely be a 9.7-inch iPad Pro with a smart keyboard and Apple Pencil support. Apple now sells the iPhone 5s for $450 at full retail price, so the smartphone may soon be discounted to $225. Apple tends to take around a fortnight to get its new projects into shops, meaning we could see the new iPhone SE in shops by April.
