Kate and Leo are together at the Oscars again
It seems everyone was overjoyed by Leonardo DiCaprio finally picking up an Oscar last night (28.02.16), but no one was as happy as his Titanic and Revolutionary Road co-star Kate Winslet.
The actress’s emotional reaction was caught on camera as her longtime friend accepted the Best Actor prize for The Revenant.
Eyes fixed on stage, hands clasped in prayer, rocking back and forth: in another context, Winslet might have looked more like a deranged racehorse owner – but this was the Oscars, so any melodrama is forgiven. “I mean, literally, people in the street go, ‘Hey Kate, you know it’s Leo’s year, ‘ and I’m like, ‘Hip, yeah!” “They are the pinnacle of friendship goals”, another concluded.
Of course, both actors’ careers could easily have easily sunk with James Cameron’s epic story of that ill-fated cruise liner.
The Titanic stars are on the edge of another Titanic year, awaiting Leo’s first Best Actor win.
While DiCaprio and Winslet are stellar individually, let’s be frank: They’re absolutely unstoppable together!
Winslet showed her support for Leo before the ceremony as the pair walked the red carpet together. DiCaprio had been nominated four times previously for an acting Oscar over a career spanning 25 years.
Then she added a coy come on: “Meet me at the clock anytime, bruv.X”, a reference to a line from the movie that helped make DiCaprio a movie star. And now they’ve finally been reunited in the Oscars hall of fame.
