The Bachelor 2016 Recap 2/29/16: Season 20 Episode 9
Who do you think Ben Higgins should choose on The Bachelor? The overnight dates are happening and Ben Higgins is said to send one more woman home to take it down to the final two before next week’s “Women Tell All” special.
Titled “Week 9”, viewers will see Bachelor Ben down to three ladies – Lauren, Caila and Jojo. However, as shown in the preview video, Ben says “I love you”, not only to one girl but two.
In one of the most cringe-worthy moments of the season, Caila surprised Ben while he was pondering his conundrum, totally unaware of her impending romantic doom. Higgins’ visit to JoJo’s hometown started off with drama courtesy of JoJo’s ex, who was trying to get back together with the bachelorette. Or Lauren? Does he know he can’t marry two women in this country?
When the two went to the fantasy suite, Lauren B.
Ben goes into his final date of the week more confused than ever. Caila strips down to her swim suit and they retire to the bedroom as fireworks go off. No, really, there were fireworks outside.
Fantasy Suite Three: Ben takes Jo Jo to a handsome waterfall and they strip into swimsuits and dive in, which is probably a metaphor for love, but even the producers can’t bring themselves to say it out loud. Ben doesn’t really have any, but just keeps saying, “I’m really going to miss you, Caila”. Caila admits to Ben that she has been over-thinking a lot today, she is anxious about the other two girls, and where she stands with The Bachelor.
The two meet up later for dinner where Ben calls her out for her weirdness earlier. “And I can feel in his breath that he feels the same”, she said. Instead of just opening up about her emotions and giving Ben the chance to make her feel better, she just had an extended bad time herself.
That leaves software sales representative Caila, real estate developer JoJo and flight attendant Lauren B. Jo Jo is nervous after her contentious hometown date but is hoping it won’t derail her relationship with Ben. The foursome flew to Jamaica to get away from the cameras and to spend some private romantic time together, so Ben could sift through his conflicted feelings for each of his girlfriends. Yet, when Ben offers her the fantasy suite card, she accepts. Caila anxious she wouldn’t be able to completely open up to Higgins, while Lauren was stressed over telling him that she loves him because he may not return the feelings.
The Cut: Now that Ben has said the L-word to two out of three of his girlfriends, it’s clear who is going home. Ben shares with Lauren how he cried in front of her sister.
While the cutesy stuff was nearly too much to bare, there was something about their connection that seemed authentic – so much so that Ben felt the need to say “I love you back”.
