Abe Vigoda’s daughter angry that Oscars ignored actor
Vigoda’s step into fame came when director Francis Ford Coppola plucked him from obscurity as a supporting actor in NY theater for a role in the Oscar-winning “The Godfather”.
It turns out Vigoda, along with the other stars mentioned above, weren’t exactly left out.
Abe Vigoda, who died in January at the age of 94, starred in “The Godfather” and “Look Who’s Talking”.
In any case, it omitted Vigoda from the “In Memoriam” package on Sunday’s Oscarcast, and his daughter is incensed. As Fuchs watched the ceremony from her home with friends, she expected to see her father’s face during the tribute slideshow, but was shocked when she realized he had gone unmentioned.

“Abe’s family feels disappointed and cheated by the Academy”, she also told the Associated Press. “Abe gave his life and heart to acting, and a simple tribute in recognition of his devotion was overlooked”. The Academy made a mistake.
We have reached out to the Academy for comment.
The Academy included Vigoda, and other late stars, in their In Memoriam photo gallery online.
Vigoda wasn’t the only actor who provoked an outcry over his absence from the show. Juliette Lewis took the snub in stride.
Jacques Rivette and Holly Woodlawn were two names that people were quick to notice, along with Geoffrey Lewis, and his daughter, actress Juliette Lewis was quick to call it out.
