Oscars 2016: Australia’s Mad Max: Fury Road triumphs
In the biggest award of the night, best picture, Mad Max: Fury Road has blown out to 100/1 long-shot odds, placing it well behind 2/5 favourite The Revenant, Spotlight (10/3), The Big Short (13/2) and Room (40/1).
At the awards in Los Angeles on Monday, Margaret Sixel won the Oscar for film editing for Fury Road, Jenny Beavan for costume design, Mark Mangini and David White for sound editing, Chris Jenkins, Gregg Rudloff and Ben Osmo for sound mixing and Colin Gibson and Lisa Thompson won for production design. Blanchett won the best supporting actress Osca in 2004 for “The Aviator” and the best-actress Oscar for “Blue Jasmine” in 2013. You can often count the list on one hand but this year is special with Mad Max: Fury Road nominated in 10 categories.
