Clinton projected victor of South Carolina Democratic Primary
Bernie Sanders’ campaign announced early Tuesday morning it had raised more than $42 million in February and raised $6 million alone in a final fundraising blitz Monday.
Clinton led Sanders by nearly 50 percentage points when all was said and done, 74-26.
Addressing her supporters in South Carolina, Mrs Clinton said: ‘Thank you so much, from one end of this state to another.
Eight southern states are among those voting. “We’re not taking anything and we’re not taking anyone for granted”. “We have barriers. We have economic barriers don’t we”.
“Despite what you hear, we don’t need to make America great again, America has never stopped being great”, she told cheering supporters in Columbia after the win. “Wages in America are not too high; they’re too low”.
Questions about Clinton’s honesty have dogged her throughout the campaign and appeared to be a weakness in earlier contests. The Vermont senator’s only outright win so far has been in the New Hampshire primary. He was campaigning in Minnesota on Saturday night and was en route when the polls closed.
When Sanders called Trump a “hatemonger” online, Clinton retweeted it. “The last thing I am is a con man”.
He vowed to fight on aggressively, saying: “This campaign is just beginning”.

When Sanders landed in Minneapolis, he told reporters the loss was all part of the process.
“Even if you don’t win the state, you can pick up delegates there”, explained Palmieri. “Tonight we lost”, Sanders said. “I congratulate Secretary Clinton on her very strong victory”.
On the Republican side, voters will cast ballots in 11 states, with 595 delegates at stake on Super Tuesday.
Clinton’s SC victory was propelled by heavy support from Black voters, 87 percent of whom picked her over Sanders.
“He’s got to pull off a surprise against Clinton soon or he won’t have time to recover”, he said. Former President Bill Clinton made statements during that campaign that were seen by some, including influential South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, as questioning the legitimacy of the black presidential contender. Clinton carried white women 18 points, while Sanders won white men by 14 points. Sanders may have the young voters, but Clinton is taking on the diverse population by storm. All registered voters could vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary but not in both.
The place where Clinton has developed her significant lead over Sanders is really among superdelegates – 712 elected officials and party elders who can choose which candidate to support and count toward the total needed to win. He also carried those who identified themselves as independent, and most white voters.
