Microsoft Previews New Xbox One Features Coming in April
This feature will be added in the March update for the console, and will be available to preview members as of tomorrow. The console will also offer the option for players to listen to party chat on headphones and through speakers simultaneously.
Xbox’s Major Nelson explained the new Party Chat functionality, specifically mentioning players will have to “opt-in” to have their chat broadcasted publicly.
Soon all Xbox One owners will be able to buy Xbox 360 games straight from their console, Microsoft revealed on Tuesday. Other features related to the audio output for Party Chart, Game DVR, Achievements and more are also included in the next major update.
Heck, Microsoft has openly supported both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, saying that gamers can have the “best of both worlds”. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is out April 26 on PS4; Tom Clancy’s The Division is out March 8 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC; Quantum Break is out April 5 on Xbox One and Windows 10; and Gears of War 4 is out holiday 2016 on Xbox One. Xbox Preview members can try out these features and others by downloading the update. The DVR has also been slightly improved, giving you the ability to set recording length.
Gamerscore leaderboard can also be viewable again if you click the “Achievements” section. Free and paid-for items availability on Xbox Live will also be integrated in the avatar store.
It’s about time. According to the Xbox team, “fans have spent more than 30 million hours playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One”.
– Reputation rating interface changes: The Xbox Live community is comprised overwhelmingly of players with positive reputations, and so, the vast majority of profiles are rated “good.’ As a result, we are changing our reputation interface to draw attention only to players who have been rated “needs work” or “avoid me”.
