Stone Roses Return With Buoyant New Song “All For One”
The resulting track, “All For One”, is filled with crunchy guitars and echoing vocals although it’s slightly more polished than the band’s previous work, likely a result of working with producer Paul Epworth.
The Stone Roses released a rollicking new alt-rock song “All For One” on Thursday.
Well, it’s here, the first new Stone Roses’ song this millennium. Listen to the band’s first new material in two decades below.
Earlier this year, singer Ian Brown told the NME the band had been recording at Church Studios in north London and declared their new music as “glorious”.
The release of the song comes ahead of a series of gigs in the United Kingdom and the US.
The Stone Roses are ready for their third act.
The new album will be the long-awaited follow-up to 1994’s Second Coming, while their last new music was released a year later in 1995. From there they move on to New York’s Madison Square Garden on June 30th and headline T In The Park in July before playing Marlay Park in Dublin on the 9th of that month. Last year, after plastering the United Kingdom with posters of a lemon logo, the band announced their live return.
The band – fronted by Brown, with guitarist John Squire, bass guitarist Mani and drummer Reni – are often hailed as an inspiration to a generation of indie bands that followed.
Reforming in 2011, the band went on to perform a world tour.
