Clinton woos Kentucky voters the day before their primary
Democratic presidential candidate Sen.
Both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are campaigning in Kentucky ahead of Tuesday’s primary there.
On Sunday in Louisville and in Fort Mitchell, Clinton touted her plan for coal country.
“So what you hear from Donald Trump is not just offensive, it is unsafe”.
Her proposals include protecting miners’ healthcare coverage and retirement programmes, investing in infrastructure in mining communities and repurposing mines.
“We are in the process now of organizing the framework for the strategy of our general election campaign”, Paul Manafort, Trump’s convention manager, said on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday. He’s also emerged as a prime target for Donald Trump, who has branded him an “abuser” of women.
“I don’t think she’s going to pick anybody who isn’t progressive”, said Bob Shrum, who has served as a senior aide to Democratic presidential candidates Al Gore and John Kerry.
“What I’m trying to tell blue-collar workers is, you know where Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton stand”, he told AFP.
Clinton only briefly mentioned Sanders at both events, repeating a critique that he did not vote to fund the auto industry bailout.
Mrs Clinton and her supporters have avoided calling on Mr Sanders to drop out of the race.
Nevada’s Democratic State Committee defended excluding 58 Bernie Sanders’ delegates at their convention Saturday night, saying they failed to register properly as Democrats before the final caucus. In fact, any fever dreams that either Clinton or Sanders could turn Utah “blue” in November because of Trump’s unpopularity is hitting the wall of reality.
In Oregon, a surge in new registrations, tilted towards young voters, may have the Sanders campaign thinking they have a chance there, despite being down in the last polls released.
“The last thing we need is more countries with nuclear weapons”, Clinton said to a roomful of cheers in Kentucky.
In Oregon, roughly 160,000 voters proactively took steps this year to make themselves eligible to cast a presidential ballot during the closed primary on Tuesday.
Even though there were clearly more Sanders supporters at the convention Clinton was awarded 20 delegates to head to Philadelphia in July while Sanders was given only 15 delegates.
A release says they “will discuss why Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who can break down the barriers that are holding Americans back and build ladders of opportunity and empowerment in their place”.
The state ended at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Paris after the director of security at the hotel-casino informed the party and campaign officials that “the property could no longer provide the necessary security under conditions made unruly and unpredictable”, the Nevada State Democratic Party said, adding that the Paris had requested a “prompt conclusion”.
Clinton already has an insurmountable lead in the delegate race, 2,240-to-1,437, toward 2,383 to clinch to party nomination.
Clinton finished with 1,695 delegates.
So far, Priorities USA has hit Trump for violence at his events, pledging to appoint justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade and his lack of foreign policy experience. Becerra’s potential status as the first major-party Hispanic nominee could also be a boon, though with Trump as the GOP nominee, the campaign is counting n a strong Latino turnout regardless. “Our job is to create a political system that is vibrant and democratic – one person, one vote – and to create an economy that works for all of us and not just a handful”.
