Dani Alves Tells Philippe Coutinho To Quit Liverpool
As a result, PSG officials are turning to more realistic targets and appear to have set their sights on Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
Last week, Coutinho, who is now on worldwide duty with Brazil, is quoted as saying: “I miss winning cups”.
Paris Saint Germain have a network of Brazilian players such as Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Marquinhos, Maxwell and Lucas Moura, who is also in Brazil’s Copa América squad in the USA. While Barcelona are interested in signing Coutinho, they may not have the financial muscle to go into a bidding war with the French champions.
Liverpool have already lost both Englishman Raheem Sterling and former talisman Luis Suarez to Manchester City and Barcelona respectively with both players insisting the promise of European football was enough to convince them to leave Anfield.
When asked about Liverpool’s midfielder, Barcelona’s forward, Neymar, said that Coutinho is a “crack” and that he would like to play together with him in the Blaugrana club. “Liverpool have history but you should consider playing for top UCL sides”, the 33-year-old told Yahoo Esportes.
PSG are believed to have approached Coutinho’s representatives to discuss a potential move but a formal offer is yet to be made.
The Liverpool playmaker signed a five-year contract to stay at Anfield in the February of last year and the club have stood firm against interest from other clubs in the past.
