As primaries wind down, United States voters eye general election
On the Democratic side, however, two-thirds of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters said primaries and caucuses should be open to any registered voter regardless of their party affiliation. In Portland, there are two open senate seats, with multiple Democratic candidates in both primaries. But Montana Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Keenan said those races weren’t as acrimonious as the Republican elections.

“How they would vote in the primary doesn’t have anything to do with the general election or any future primaries”, Hemphill said.

Anthony List, are upset with votes the three-term congresswoman has made since she was first elected in 2010 with Tea Party support. Indeed, an analysis of the 322,000 nonpartisan mail ballots turned in by last Thursday show that only 40 percent of them even cast a vote for president. “She’s a woman, but the reason I never voted before in the primaries is that I don’t want a woman running our country”.
“Inactive” Republican and Democratic voters can still participate in the primary – if they haven’t moved out of the state or otherwise become ineligible.
In some places, particularly the swing districts of Orange County and the Inland Empire, they’ll battle Republicans in a quest to run up the score. It is uncertain who is ahead – the candidates have not raised or spent much money – but some are more certain about another thing: The race could set a record for the margin of victory required to win.

The GOP is fighting to hold onto several seats picked up from Democrats two years ago, including those held by Assembly members Catharine Baker of Dublin, David Hadley of Torrance, Young Kim of Fullerton and Eric Linder of Corona. Bloom defeated Bartoli in 2014, so this is a rematch.
