Forza Motorsport is going to be an esport
The Forza Motorsport 6 cover star Ford GT road vehicle – expected to start arriving in customers’ garages by the end of 2016 – has been available to drive in-game since the launch of the acclaimed title a year ago.
Microsoft today announced that Forza Racing Championship is coming later this summer in Forza Motorsport 6. Forza’s downloadable cars generally cost a little extra, so a free GT is quite a nice bonus.
Welcoming racing gamers of all types, Forza Motorsport combines unprecedented visuals with a top notch simulation engine, giving everyone the opportunity to truly feel what it’s like to own, race and customize the cars of their dreams.
“Fifty years ago, one of the most legendary moments in motorsports history took place as the duel between Ford and Ferrari took place on the track at Le Mans 1966”, said Bill Ford, executive chairman, Ford Motor Company.
Imaginatively titled “Forza Racing Championship”, it promises to welcome players of all skill levels where “everyone has a chance to win” as they compete against one another to win real-world prizes.
With Gran Turismo Sport making waves in the automotive circles thanks to its unique take on simulation racing as a sport, Forza Motorsport has made a decision to jump in on the action. Motor manufacturer Ford and messaging service Snapchat are co-operating to provide special access to 2016’s edition of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
Ford returns to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a new GT supercar.
