USA singer dies after being shot at concert venue
Christina Grimmie, shown here at a 2014 concert, was shot and killed after performing in Orlando Friday night.
“She was doing a meet-and-greet, just signing autographs and selling merchandise”. She was discovered when she was a teen six years ago on her YouTube page, where she belted out powerful renditions of famous cover songs. She had a massive social media following with more than three million YouTube subscribers.
Grimmie and Before You Exit, an Orlando-based pop-punk band, were signing autographs for fans after the show, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Grimmie’s brother tackled the man but he shot and killed himself before he could be apprehended, CNN reported.

#PrayforChristina started trending on Twitter as friends, fans and other singers hoped for the singer to pull through. He had two guns on him at the time of the shooting. “What a tragic loss my thoughts are with her family, friends and fans”.
Mina said police are combing through the suspect’s phone and computer for more information. Police believe he travelled to the Florida city specifically to carry out the shooting, authorities said.
The suspect was found with two firearms and a hunting knife.
Although patrons had their bags and purses checked for weapons at the venue, there were no metal detectors and the security guards were unarmed, Mine said.

The police chief praised Ms Grimmie’s brother Marcus.
The gunman approached her and opened fire without warning, then fatally shot himself, according to police.
Levine, her coach on The Voice, also posted online, writing: “I’m sad, shocked and confused”.
“I’d love to open for [Justin] Bieber it would be awesome, that would definitely be the crowd I would want to play to”, Christina admitted in a PopCrush interview, published just days before Grimmie’s horrific passing.
Later, The Voice tweeted, “There are no words. We lost a handsome soul with an incredible voice”, The Voice said in a Twitter tribute.
Orlando Police Department officials tell WKMG-TV (http://bit.ly/1PkSY0k ) that Grimmie was shot Friday night at The Plaza Live, where she was scheduled to perform.
“I’m done being surprised by cool things she does”. “She knew what she wanted to do and did it wholeheartedly”, he told the local Courier-Post.
