‘Shield’ actor gets 40 years to life in wife’s killing
Los Angeles, United States-Actor Michael Jace was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison on Friday for gunning down his wife in front of their two young children in an affluent neighborhood of Los Angeles.
‘There is absolutely no justification for my actions on that night, ‘ Jace tearfully told his wife’s family members in court.
His attorney told jurors that he had acted in the heat of passion.

When police arrived, they found Jace’s wife, April, dead from gunshot wounds. “But I thought it was important and I hear that it’s important for the family to know that I didn’t commit first-degree murder”.
Jace was convicted of shooting April in the back and legs with their two sons present.
During the course of the trial, Jace’s son Nehemiah, who was then 8 years old, described witnessing the murder.
“My only daughter April invited me to church every Sunday, every Sunday”, she said.
On Friday, The Shield alum was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for murdering his wife, April.
She asked the judge to sentence Jace to the maximum.
However, Deputy District Attorney Tannaz Mokayef argued the words “show premeditation”, adding, “Who is going to argue this is not an intent to kill?”

An actor who played a police officer on TV is set to be sentenced in his wife’s killing.
Outside of his TV career, Jace had small roles in films such as Planet of the Apes, Boogie Nights and Forrest Gump.
The prosecutor noted that Jace also believed his wife April, a financial aid counselor at Biola University, was having an affair.
