Southeast gets more rain as Tropical Storm Colin heads east

Florida Governor Rick Scott was in Jacksonville Tuesday thanking first-responders for being prepared for Tropical Storm Colin, which passed through the First Coast Monday evening.

At the Rose Report, Louis Rose said that “across the southeastern states, Tropical Storm Colin is expected to dump rain across the Gulf Coast and Lower Atlantic Coast regions”.
Colin was the earliest third Atlantic storm on record.
A tropical storm warning was dropped from north of Wilmington, North Carolina, to Cape Lookout, North Carolina.
Scott cautioned that the state has seen severe flooding in unlikely places after previous storms. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rains. Traffic may be slow but hadn’t been stopped anywhere, he said. Warnings remained in effect from the Suwannee River to Englewood and from Sebastian Inlet, Florida, to Oregon Inlet, North Carolina.
The hurricane center says the storm’s maximum sustained winds were around 50 miles per hour.
