‘ALF’ Actor Mihaly ‘Michu’ Meszaros Dead At 76
Michu Meszaros has died at age 76.
Michu Meszaros, the two-foot, nine-inch (84cm) star who played ALF in the hit 80s TV show, is fighting for his life after slipping into a coma.
The 2ft 9in actor was found unconscious on his bathroom floor late last week by his manager Dennis Varga and was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital.
According to TMZ, Meszaros had suffered from health problems since experiencing a stroke eight years ago.
The Hungarian native got his start in showbiz as a performer in Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus before landing the role of ALF.
While the actor has appeared in several other TV shows and films, Meszaros is easily best known for his work as ALF, the furry ginger alien who was hugely popular in the 1980s.
For the entirety of Alf’s four seasons (1986 to 1990), Michu donned his costume any time he needed to walk or move throughout a scene. His first on-screen appearance was in H.R. Pufnstuf, and his last was in Warlock: The Armageddon.
Michu also did a cameo in “Big Top Pee-wee”… and 2 Pepsi commercials with Michael Jackson.
A GoFundMe page was recently launched to help with medical fees as Meszaros fought for his life, and now stands to pay for funeral costs.
