Titanfall 2 Gameplay Trailer Released ahead of EA Play
Titanfall 2 will offer multiplayer, much like the first Titanfall featured. The lack of single player content in Titanfall was a big complaint from the gaming communities, and this addition won’t go unnoticed.
We’ll update this story if any additional news comes out of the EA Play event.
“Titanfall 2” was revealed to be in the works, after details were inadvertently presented when EA published a rehearsal for its pre-E3 show on the internet. Nevertheless, it was still a proper single player mode in the Titanfall universe.
The game is set in the distant future and the campaign trailer starts off with the image of a planet, possibly Earth, being blown apart.
Titanfall’s official website also shared that the new game will use a whole new matchmaking system, which will constant search for better matches for players.
How many players can be in a match at once? Look at Overwatch, for example. This is completely speculation on our part, but getting the amount of users testing the game that the studio clearly wants to do will require a more open take on a Titanfall 2 Beta release. I would’ve snatched this up on day one if it had an interesting story at its core. A multi-player trailer was also showcased, with new pilot abilities.
Interestingly enough, the Titan sword gameplay seen in the campaign trailer wasn’t shown off in the multiplayer footage, though many are expecting it to be a another one of the six new Titan classes or at the very least be a potential loadout weapon option. The studio was formed by Vince Zampella and Jason West, former co-founders of Infinity Ward and two of the co-creators of the multi-billion dollar franchise Call of Duty™. Those have single player modes, but most people skip it entirely. DICE and Criterion Games are also working together on a Star Wars VR game title as well.
Titanfall 2 was nearly destined to make a similar mistake. “We knew all the answers, we just could not deliver it”. Nonetheless, it’s a welcome change to what fans and critics saw as an issue with the first game, and remedying that by actually exploring the relationship between a pilot and their killing machine buddy with a programmed mind of its own. I salute Respawn Entertainment for listening to player feedback.
