Ravens get much-needed good Breshad Perriman news
Perriman does not have a completely torn ACL in his left knee as previously feared and “will be fine for the season”, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Tuesday.
Perriman received a stem cell injection from noted orthopedist James Andrews, according to a source informed of his situation.
It’s a rare piece of good news for Perriman, who missed all of last season with a right knee injury after being selected 26th overall out of Central Florida by Baltimore in the 2015 draft. I think we’ve been down this road before.
His knee didn’t quickly respond to the treatment and it was a lost season for both the rookie and the Ravens who went 5-11 with a lack of speed on offense factoring in the team’s troubles.
The wide receiver reportedly doesn’t need reconstructive knee surgery.
Whoa, what?! So, Perriman won’t miss his second straight season? But he had successive 1.000-yard season with the Steelers in 2010-11, and scored 10 touchdowns just two years ago with Miami.
Since third-rounders have a bit more room with which to negotiate, it’s why players in that round, such as Kaufusi, sometimes take longer to sign. “So, my plans don’t change”. “That’s why I chose to come here. because I felt like it gave me the best opportunity to make big plays”.
Also, left tackle Eugene Monroe, battling to recover from shoulder surgery even as the team has ostensibly named first-round pick Ronnie Stanley as the starter at his position, is being held out of drills because Harbaugh says teams “are inquiring” about Monroe’s services.
