Vigil held in New Jersey hometown of slain ‘Voice’ singer
Last night, the town of Evesham, New Jersey, held their own candle-lit vigil to commemorate the life and sudden loss of 22-year-old YouTuber and musician, Christina Grimmie. Genuinely”, wrote Marcus. “But above all… she was my baby sister. Her brother, who was present at the time of the shooting that took Grimmie’s life, expressed his honest gratitude toward fans who had donated, saying that he was “blown away”.
Police will reportedly investigate Christina Grimmie’s death as a hate crime, as the shooter’s online activities could point to his hatred for Christians. Selena (Gomez) is singing a song and crying (during her concert). [The Orlando victims] didn’t have that, and we’re blessed to.
With regard to his sister, Marcus said, “She’s in a better place….” Speaking with media backstage beforehand, she said of Grimmie, “I’m performing on her behalf tonight”.
“She was one of the greatest, most selfless people you’ll ever come across”, said friend Pete Innaurato.
Now the music world will always wonder, “What could have been?”…as fans, friends and family prepare to say goodbye to Christina. “It’s important to remember the type of person that Christina was, who didn’t only want to be remembered for her musical career”.
Hundreds mourned Grimmie in a candlelight vigil held in her hometown of Evesham, N.J. Monday night.
Grimmie, who had been a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice”, was fatally shot on June by Kevin James Loibl, who was carrying two handguns, two additional loaded magazines of ammunition and a large hunting knife. I mean, 50 people dead, who knows who is injured.
Referring to the moment she was shot without using those words, her brother said, “she was arms wide open”. “But we’ll see her again in heaven”. She loved this state.
The Maroon Five singer was Grimmie’s coach when she competed on season six of “The Voice”.
Tess Pschunder of Moorestown taught Grimmie in Sunday school when she was in third grade.
