Lesnar’s UFC 200 Opponent Announced
He’s now under contract with the pro wrestling promotion. These fighters would be a good test for Lesnar to see if he still has what it takes to compete in the sport.
Most recently, Hunt has dispatched former heavyweight champion Frank Mir and former title contender Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in back-to-back contests. Although his tenure was cut short after battling a digestive disorder called diverticulitis, Lesnar accomplished a lot in his seven trips to the Octagon. The professional wrestler told ESPN in March he chose to close the door on MMA after signing a new deal with WWE. “The only thing I second-guess is my decision is to step away from the Octagon”. “Going back to that interview [when I said I was done with MMA for good], it was a hard decision for me to make”. “That decision has haunted me for the past 15 months”. Lesnar said the true competitor inside of him is alive and well, and he has to do this. “I didn’t care. That’s how simple it is”.
And he won a headline fight in 2009 against Hunt’s last opponent Mir at UFC 100, but he’s not fought in the Octagan since 2011.
According to the odds makers at Bookmaker.eu, Hunt was instilled as a -195 favorite with Lesnar as the underdog at +166.
“I think I match up very well”, Lesnar said.
His opponent is still yet to be announced but the frontrunner is Mark Hunt, a man famous for his walkway KOs.
Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200.
But then Helwani was kicked out of the event because UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta apparently wanted him out, which lead to some harsh words being thrown around.
Lesnar has kept in the public eye as an occasional performer for WWE.
Lesnar also plugged SummerSlam in August and said he’s a busy bee.
