(Colo.)- Arenado Hits 20th Homer, Leads Rockies Over Yankees 5-3
Rockies righthander Chad Bettis had his best start in almost a month, holding the Yankees to three runs (two earned) on seven hits and no walks, striking out five over six innings. However, when your starting pitcher allows ten hits, there’s only so much you can do.
Although the Rockies held on to beat the Yankees 13-10 Tuesday night at Coors Field, they almost squandered a 12-3 lead.
The Colorado Rockies are trying to reach.500 and then see if they can make a run in the National League West.
LeMahieu has been one of the stars in the field and at the plate, which made the sixth inning a scary one. LeMahieu and RBI double to Nolan Arenado. Starlin Castro singled with one out and Didi Gregrious poked an opposite-field, run-scoring single to left with two outs.Aaron Hicks followed with a tapper near the mound. DJ LeMahieu, who went 3-for-3 with a triple, got him in with a single to center, tying it at 2.

Ivan Nova was the latest starter to struggle. Nova allowed five runs in five innings on ten hits and two walks. For an American League team coming in here, they’re not built for the pitcher to hit. Perez allowed nine hits and gave up four runs.
