Xiaomi Redmi 3s unveiled: Price, Specs, Availability
Chinese electronics venture Xiaomi has unveiled a new product in Redmi 3 range, the Redmi 3S in China.
Xiaomi just announced its flagship Mi5 phone is now available in Malaysian stores, from official distributor Thorus. Speaking of variants, Xiaomi Mi Max comes in three options – 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, Snapdragon 650 priced at 1499 Yuan/USD 230; 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, Snapdragon 652 priced at 1699 Yuan/USD 260 and a 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, Snapdragon 652 priced at 1999 Yuan/USD 306. The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD display and Snapdragon 430 chipset and draws power from a 4,100mAh battery. The Redmi 3S is a bit of an iPhone lookalike that’s sold in familiar Gray, Silver, and Gold colors. Now in March, there were rumors that Xiaomi could be planning a successor, or at least an upgraded variant that could feature a fingerprint sensor and it looks like the rumors were right. The Redmi 3S is available in two variants, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.
The Redmi 3S comes with a 4,100 mAh battery, which is the same capacity as found on the Redmi 3.
Xiaomi started sale in China last month, and Xiaomi revealed that it had received over 16 million registrations for the first flash sale. Moreover, the phone makes use of the hybrid SIM slot to provide dual SIM support, thus allowing users to opt for MicroSD instead of second SIM. In addition, there is also a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies with f/2.2 aperture.
Even though the Redmi 3S is an entry-level handset, it features a metallic chassis. Both are low-priced and low-tier Android devices, and both come with a fingerprint scanner, Engadget reports. The Redmi 3S measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 millimeters, or 5.48 x 2.74 x 0.33 inches, and weighs 144 grams, or 5.08 ounces, exactly the same as the Redmi 3.
