Virginia trucker wins $92M prize from Pennsylvania Lottery
The winning numbers from the Mega Millions draw on Tuesday July 27th were 8, 35, 61, 68, 75 and the bonus ball was 15. And one player matched 4 White Balls, with Megaplier, and won $2,500.
The Mega Millions jackpot is slowly climbing, but a much larger jackpot is at stake tonight. The winning ticket matched the first five numbers drawn: 25-28-36-45-53.
The Pennsylvania Lottery said Wednesday that Steven Peloquin, of Mechanicsville, Va., claimed the sole winning ticket in a Mega Millions drawing last week. If the prize isn’t claimed before the ticket expires, the money will go to the state School Aid Fund. The ticket holder should contact the Lottery’s Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237.
Pick 3 winners receive $500 for a $1 straight bet and the odds of winning are 1-in-1,000. Rea purchased the winning ticket at a Gas Mart store on Hampton Avenue in south St. Louis. According to the Michigan Lottery, five major prizes went unclaimed in 2014, adding more than $1 million to the fund.
Peloquin presented the Mega Millions ticket for validation at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.
The Pennsylvania Lottery joined the Mega Millions multi-state game in early 2010 and has awarded two jackpots for the game.
Tom Rea, a building maintenance supervisor for the city’s department of corrections and his wife, Catherine Ruggeri-Rea, the city’s courts administrator, were announced as the winners of a $70 million jackpot at a press conference Wednesday morning.
The Reas took a lump sum payment of $42.7 million before taxes.
