Microsoft launches Windows 10 in South Korea

Windows 10 can run across PCs, tablets and smartphones and features include a new search function, faster browsing, personalised gaming and an easier interface.

Corporate customers will to pay for it, but the upgrade is free for Windows 7 and 8 users. The new OS also comes with a built-in Xbox app, as well as overhauled entertainment offering, with Windows Media Center replaced by customized versions of Xbox Music and Xbox Video — respectively renamed “Groove” and “Movies & TV”. Bright says Windows 10 is the best version yet-or at least it will be, once Microsoft squashes the bugs.

Windows 10 will also come with Windows Defender and Smart Screen to help safeguard against viruses, malware, and phishing.

Windows 10 users gain access to the personal assistant application, Cortana, on the taskbar.

Redmond has plans on seeding out the updates in multiple waves; however, if you’ve already reserved your copy of Windows 10 you should be able to upgrade to it today, or soon afterwards. At the Boston store, Microsoft gave CRNtv a walk-through demonstration of the sleek, new system. “Cortana will be made available to Insiders (developers with Microsoft) in the coming weeks and then later to consumers”, Microsoft India Director (Windows Business Group) Vineet Durani told PTI. Users will be notified on the desktop when their download is ready.

Even as Microsoft on Wednesday launched its next big operating system Windows 10, the company revealed that it was working to bring Surface tablet and its Signature Windows operating system to India. It’s safer for everyone, but you don’t necessarily want your PC rebooting unexpectedly.

But as well as new types of input, Windows 10 is focused on inclusion. With the tool, people who use Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 can create USB disks and ISO disk images that can be used to install Windows 10 on other computers.

Over time, that could build loyalty toward Microsoft and hook people back into the Windows ecosystem.

“I believe Windows 10 will spark a PC hardware increase in the fourth quarter”, said Moorhead.
