Portsmouth to hold vigil for Orlando shooting victims
First Christian Church held a vigil for people of all beliefs to gather and offer prayers for the victims and families affected in Orlando.

The event will coincide with similar nationwide vigils, mourning those killed in the Orlando nightclub shooting. Assistant Special Agent Trevor Velinor of the ATF Tampa Field Office said that the weapons were legally purchased within the last week. There are around 150 already there, with many more to come in the next few days.
The 50 victims of a deadly shooting that left the country in shock and was declared the largest mass shooting in US history will be remembered by Utahns during multiple vigils this week.
The vigil will take place in Eyre Square this evening at 6.30pm. “All are welcome to join us in this time of grief and hope for a different kind of future”, the Rev. Jessie Smith said in an email.
The mayor said the people that perpetuate this type of hate want us to hate ourselves, adding don’t give in. There will be a lot of times for silence and we’re mainly coming just to pray.
The 2016 Pride Youngstown Festival is still set for July 16.
“Charleston is noted as the 10th most compassionate city in the United States by some organizations”, said church rector Marquita Hutchens.
