Search Ads In Google Play Store Go Live Globally
Of those, one area in particular the company touched on was improving the discoverability of apps through better categorization and the ability for developers to A/B test their listings to find which combination of titles and screenshots would lead to the most downloads. Google created a feature, within the Google Search app, to show how busy millions of companies are throughout the day.
Google is today opening up a program that allows developers who are running Search app install campaigns on AdWords to advertise their apps within Google Play’s search results. Google also points out, “Keywords for Mobile app install campaigns are optimized for targeting app-specific searches”. With such an extensive reach, Search Ads on Google Play can provide consumers new ways to discover apps that they otherwise might have missed and help developers drive more awareness of their apps.
“In addition to providing app conversion tracking across Search, Display and YouTube, this new solution also allows developers to better align the conversion volume they see in AdWords with the data they see in a third-party measurement solution.”
To ensure data consistency and give developers the freedom to use reporting and optimization features across AdWords and third-party solutions of their choice, Google is working with key partners like Tune, AppsFlyer, Kochava, Adjust and Apsalar. The simplified campaign type will enable app marketers to promote their apps across Google properties, including Google Play, search, YouTube, AdMob’s app network and sites on the Google Display Network.
Another feature, soon to be launched is called Universal App Campaigns.
“We wanted to show the public how blatant and obvious and hurtful all this fraud is – not just to advertisers who pay for ads that no one sees but also people using these apps on these tiny devices that are bandwidth-limited and power-limited”, Forensiq’s chief scientist, Mike Andrews, told “Mashable”.
Google can get away with being creepy in many cases because it’s just so useful.
The reach for app developers through ads in Google Play is quite huge.
