Spoke To Antonio Conte, Convinced He’ll Bring Chelsea Success, Says Blues Star
The 46-year-old will take charge of the Blues when he draws a close to a two-year spell with Italy after Euro 2016.
Bonucci has also impressed on the worldwide stage and he was widely praised for his performance during Italy’s opening 2-0 win over Belgian at the European Championships earlier this week.
In turn, they will ramp up their interest later this summer, with Conte evidently prioritising strengthening his defence, as he has also been linked with a move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, as noted by La Repubblica.
Carlo Ancelotti insists Antonio Conte is an obvious “leader” and a good fit for Chelsea.
Though the Spanish star is undoubtedly one of the most important players at Stamford Bridge, Conte is believed to be open to the idea of selling him for around €15m (roughly £11.8m).
“He wants to play without risk in the defensive line and to exploit the opportunities to score goals when they come”.
As for his management style, Ancelotti discussed the various demands Conte – who led Juve to three consecutive Serie A titles as coach – would make of his squad.
Leonardo Bonucci has a previous record with Chelsea’s incoming coach, having been managed by Conte at Juventus and now for the Italian national team where he’s slowly become one of the best centre-backs in the world.
