Investigations launched into death of boy, 4, on Mayo farm

A four-year-old child has been killed in farm death – in an accident that occurred in Mayo.
He was fatally injured after he was hit by a trailer on a farm at Ballinaboy, near Belmullet.
The latest farm death involved a tractor initial reports say.
He was rushed to Belmullet District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The scene has been preserved for examination, and the HSA has been notified.
The Health and Safety Authority are aware of the incident and a spokesman said they had launched an investigation into the tragic death.
On Saturday, a man in his 50’s died on a family farm in Co Kerry.
Farming is the most risky occupation in Ireland and last year the number of farm deaths nearly doubled from 16 to 30.
