Trump Throws A Tantrum And Threatens Not To Campaign For Republicans
USA presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is taking heat yet again, this time for some controversial comments against a judge, as experts said this will hurt him in the presidential race.
“Our country needs to see winners”, Trump told the crowd.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., both have strongly condemned those comments, but Warren, D-Mass., argued that McConnell and Ryan are really no better than Trump on the issue of judges.
Trump has had a rough week, with Republican leaders across the country rebuking him for suggesting a judge ca n’t fairly preside over a Trump University lawsuit because the judge is Mexican-American. They were almost as unsparing as the Democrats in their criticism of his boundary-pushing response Monday to the killing of 49 people at a gay club in Orlando, Florida, by an American-born Muslim who pledged loyalty to the Islamic State group.
“We have a war to win against a very crooked politician”, he said at a rally in Tampa on Saturday, referring to Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. I don’t want to waste a lot of time trying to defend ourselves against these phony people. “And if for no other reason, the Supreme Court, remember that”.
Later, he added: “We have to get tough”. After meeting with counterterrorism officials, a stern-faced Obama said: “We heard these suggestions during the course of this campaign”. Days later, he’s punching up his message to skeptical party members: Get your act together.
South Dakota Senator John Thune, the No. 3 Republican, said Trump’s recent statements have been “concerning” and reflect his style throughout the campaign.
House Republicans said they would meet with Trump on July 7, but the reactions of lawmakers underscored an atmosphere of anxiety and unease among Capitol Hill Republicans, who hoped to see Trump moderate his impulses in the weeks since clinching the nomination.
His comments come as Republicans tread carefully around their party’s 2016 standard-bearer.
“You know I’m from business… we honor things”, Trump said.
Following his Tampa rally, Trump heads to Pittsburg for another event.
Vice President Joe Biden and progressive Senator Elizabeth Warren also signed onto Clinton’s “I’m with her” campaign. “Do you, folks? Who the hell cares?”.
Trump on June 10 criticised Clinton’s willingness to accept thousands of Syrian refugees into the USA and challenged her to “replace her support for increased refugee admission” in favour of a new job program for inner cities.
But former Republican Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney was also belittled as a “stone cold loser” for his refusal to endorse Trump’s candidacy.
Clinton’s vision builds on President Barack Obama’s campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and expands on his gun control executive orders, while Trump is calling for a drastically different national security posture.
“What’s happening with Hillary Clinton is a disgrace. It’s a rigged system”.
“I’ll be in Florida”.
“You’re going to say please keep him the hell out of Florida, he’s driving us insane”. He’s driving us insane.
Despite major events taking place elsewhere in Richmond that evening, large numbers of Trump supporters filled the seats and main floor of the Coliseum.
“When Trump goes off his staff’s script he insults anyone who challenges him”.
Trump’s provocative remarks created a firestorm last week as many Democratic and Republican politicians alike dismissed them as racist. “Donald Trump is concerned with something else: Keeping our American dream from becoming history”.
