Cavs will attempt to make Finals history with backs against wall

Now, the city of Cleveland is one Cavaliers loss away from saying goodbye once again to hopes of winning a sports championship for the first time since 1964.

Unlike the first three games of the Finals which ended in routs, the Cavaliers and the Warriors kept things close this time, swopping leads throughout the game.

The 3-point parade was led by none other than the Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who sunk 11 3’s, and in the process, the Cavaliers. Curry had 38 points in the Warriors’ 108-97 win. THey outscored the Cavaliers 27-18 in this quarter, shooting 66.7 per cent from the field, and only attempting four 3s.

The Warriors will get Green back Thursday as they try again for that repeat title.

Except for a freaky overtime win at Oklahoma City on February 27, it was Golden State’s biggest rebounding deficit of the season. It appeared that several Cavaliers ran out of gas early in the fourth quarter, when the Warriors took control of the game. Draymond Green blocked James at the rim on a drive, then Thompson blocked Irving at the rim in transition.

“I have an opinion on who’s our general, and that’s Coach Lue”, James said after shootaround Friday morning.

“Some of the words that came out of his mouth were a little bit overboard”, James said of Green. Leading up, the big question was whether or not Kevin Love, if he cleared the NBA’s concussion protocol, would start or come off the bench.

From there, falling down 93-84 with under four minutes left, Cleveland didn’t have the firepower to fight their way back into the game.
