Christina Grimmie’s brother Marcus mourns ‘superstar’ baby sister’s death
Just one night after singer Christina Grimmie was shot and killed at her own concert in Orlando, Florida, another (unrelated) shooting has taken place in the same city. An investigation is ongoing. “We’re looking into that to try to find a motive for the crime”. Then while singing “Nobody”, Gomez had to stop for a moment to try to collect herself and was seen mouthing “I’m sorry” to her fans as she struggled to finish the song.
Levine coached the 22-year-old YouTube sensation to land a third place finish on season 6 of The Voice back in 2014.
He added that police were now searching through the Loibl’s phone and computer to find a possible motive for the murder.
Sgt. Wanda Miglio said during a news conference after the shooting that about 60 to 100 people were in attendance, though only a handful remained when the shooting happened. Loibl shot and killed himself moments later, cops say.
Brian Teefey, Grimmie’s manager and step-father of pop star Selena Gomez, has launched a GoFundMe drive to raise funds for Grimmie’s family. “We lost a lovely soul with an awesome voice”. Orlando Police Chief John Mina told NBC News that while fans’ purses and backpacks are typically checked when they enter the venue, The Plaza Live has no metal detectors.
“Everyone is just running all over the place”, said the teenager, who travelled to the concert from Brunswick, Georgia. Around 120 others were present at the time. Police said they are examining the cell phone and computer of the man who shot Grimmie.
A spokeswoman said all events at the venue had been suspended until further notice.
“The support has been insane, and I do feel a peace”, Marcus said.
“It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord”, the rep said in a statement.
