Sony’s VR System Compatible With PlayStation And Slated For October Release
There were so many promising games, so many things to look forward to in the coming years like Resident Evil: Biohazard for VR and a new God Of War that appears to be totally different than any other God Of War game ever created.
Sony confirmed PlayStation Neo was in development ahead of E3 last week but chose not to mention it during its E3 press conference. It will probably be around the same time as Sony releases their updated console, the Neo, which will be compatible with 4K TV’s and will be more powerful to accommodate Playstation VR. The news was greeted with enthusiasm, and many analysts covering the show predict the VR system will be the “must have” Christmas gift of 2016.
While E3 is meant to celebrate all things gaming, it’s also a spectator sport. It’s obviously likely that Sony is continuing development for the Ps4.5, but Sony’s briefing at E3 leaves an implicit message for Microsoft.
But according to Sony Interactive Entertainment president Andrew House, the decision was made in order to focus on games.
Finally, the long wait for Sony’s PlayStation VR headset is over, as the wearable device now has a release date. There may even be opportunity for Sony to make cameras tailored to the technology. Batman: Arkham VR from Rocksteady Studios will be the first virtual reality Batman experience allowing fans to experience Gotham City through the eyes of the World’s Greatest Detective in an all-new Arkham mystery.
Xbox One S can also function as an Ultra HD Blu-ray player.
The appetite for play video, commentary, trailers and more seems insatiable, industry insiders said.
Head of sales and marketing Jim Ryan told MCV that the Neo would be unveiled when Sony has sufficient content “to demonstrate it properly”.
“They are superstars in their own right”, Wyatt said.
E3 2016 may have been dogged by leaks and hearsay beforehand, but nothing beats actually seeing them in action, especially when the announcements are on the level of what you’re about to read.
House also spoke more on the new PlayStation VR headset and how consumers may have a hard time grabbing one. I know numerous NR folks were hyped when we saw the teaser trailer, and for me, this is one of my most anticipated game for the upcoming year.
