Radradra set to walk out on Eels
Paul Kent from Fox Sports delivers Sunday Triple M NRL the latest on overnight news that Semi Radradra may be lost from the Eels and the NRL.
Slipping away: Eels’ dynamic winger Semi Radradra.
Nine News are reporting that the Eels are seeking to reach a compromise with him which will allow him to spend some time playing for Toulon, on the condition that he makes an extended commitment to Parramatta.
There has been speculation in France linking Radradra with Bordeaux but the deadline for registering players ahead of the upcoming Top 14 season was last week and the wing sensation’s name wasn’t among the list of signings announced by the club.
“It was reported earlier in the year that he could go to Japan or France”.
However, a stint in rugby union would be discussed as part of negotiations for a new contract.
Fiji-born Radradra also made his debut for the Kangaroos in this year’s trans-Tasman Test.
“He was here at the village this morning but he’s not home now”, the source said.
It is understood that Radradra will return to the club, and to training on Tuesday.
“The Parramatta Eels can confirm that Semi Radradra has been granted permission to return to Fiji for a short family visit during the bye round”, a statement read.
Parramatta Eels captain Kieran Foran has denied reports that he is set to bring his rugby league career to an end.
The Eels’ season has lurched from disaster to disaster and, this week, they are expected to have their penalties confirmed for alleged salary-cap breaches, including being stripped of 12 competition points.
On Saturday night, the Parramatta club responded to the report.
