Warcraft next expansion to unveiled at Gamescom

Blizzard has a new expansion planned for World of Warcraft, but it’s holding its cards close to its chest. More coverage of the expansion for World of Warcraft is likely while other World of Warcraft announcements could also occur.

Save the date for August 6, 2015 at 9 a.m. PST for their livestream announcement of the latest expansion. I guess this means I should finish leveling up my toons to 100 and so will you.

When it comes to PC gaming, the fine folks at Blizzard have a lot on their plate this summer. There’s not much point to paying the monthly fee if you don’t have anything to do. Blizzard could announce WoW’s next expansion and release it several months later after working with its community to help tweak it. To put that into perspective, Blizzard usually waits around 2 years between expansions. The harder way for Blizzard to prevent these subscriber dips is to release expansion packs faster.

With a bevy of expansion leaks permeating the internet lately, World of Warcraft players had a feeling they might hear about the next expansion soon. If recent reports are any indication, we’ll all have a chance to peer into Blizzard’s crystal ball in just over a week’s time. Maybe starting this anticipation in August rather than November will be enough to stop the game from bleeding players.
