Hillary and Bill ‘over the moon’ about birth of newest grandchild

She added the caption: ‘At 7:41 AM Saturday, our family and hearts expanded with Aidan’s arrival.

Chelsea Clinton, 36, took to Twitter late Saturday morning to announce Aidan’s birth.

In March, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka gave birth to her third child, son Theodore James.

It was a very special Father’s Day this year for the Clinton family, as the former first daughter gave birth to her second child, a boy, on Saturday.

Hillary Clinton’s tweet, which shares the same excitement, reads, “What a joy being with our new grandson, Aidan”.

Clinton and former President Bill Clinton said in a statement that they were “overjoyed” at the news.

As the former president points out, Aidan’s arrival is the ultimate Father’s Day gift.

Aidan is Clinton and husband Marc Mezvinsky’s second child; their daughter Charlotte was born in September 2014. Clinton serves as the vice chairwoman of the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. And as the mother-of-two left the hospital, she couldn’t help beaming from ear-to-ear – and neither could proud grandparents Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton isn’t the only presidential hopeful to have welcomed a grandchild.

As a celebrity mom, Chelsea Clinton stayed in Lenox Hill’s maternity ward, dedicated exclusively to the rich and famous, according to The Daily Mail.

“She does have some Clinton genes”, she said of Charlotte at one event.
