‘Supergirl’ Elects TV’s Wonder Woman Lynda Carter as President
While we heard some time ago that the show was hoping to get Lynda Carter, a.k.a. the famed Wonder Woman of decades past, on the show for a guest stint, we now are getting to officially see it happen!
Wonder Woman is coming to The CW’s Supergirl. Sources confirm that Carter will recur on the upcoming second season of the show in a role that is pretty darn important: The President of the United States.
The executive producers of “Supergirl” previously revealed they had been trying to work out a deal for Carter to play POTUS, but hadn’t been able to until now.
A former Miss World America who’s appeared in movies, shows and on stage, Carter will make her Supergirl debut on the third episode of the show’s second season – beginning October 10 – and is locked in for multiple episodes. “We had the ideal role for Lynda Carter,”says Berlanti, “and we couldn’t work [it] out [because of] her schedule”.
Numerous details are still hush-hush, but a classic DC comics actress is making her way to the “Supergirl” series.
Supergirl marks Carter’s first TV role in a few years. She is represented by The Katz Company, Inc., Dorit Simone Management & Productions and Mavrick Artists Agency. The series cast Teen Wolf favorite Tyler Hoechlin to play Superman/Clark Kent, with the character debuting at the start of season two.
Supergirl premieres Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
