The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has replied a claim by Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, that the commission lacks the right to investigate him because of immunity now covering him as a sitting governor.
From the report of three security agencies which investigated the fraud found that the governor stole monies meant for national security, and deposited them into his personal account.
Fayose Speaking at the premises of Zenith Bank, Ado-Ekiti, where he had his personal account, the governor claimed that he had gotten winds of plans by the Presidency to freeze his account some days earlier. I came here today and I have been able to see it.

But an EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren who spoke to a local media portal, Vanguard defended the position of the anti-graft agency saying that it has the right to investigate any governor whose account is being used to move funds. “They can not continue with this rascality”, he said.
